I don't know if yard sales are actually an American tradition, but they are definitely a Utah tradition. My mom is the self proclaimed Queen of the Yard Sale and she is having one this weekend. It is actually a neighborhood yard sale that is held at my parent's house. There are five or six families that contribute stuff to sell and you can be sure that it is quality merchandise. Last year I bought Macie's solid oak crib and changing table there for 60 bucks! If anyone is interested, let me know and I will get you the address.
